action 3: Celebrate Paul Ryan’s “Retirement”
During this National Poetry month enjoy this celebratory haiku written by a native Wisconsinite in honor of Paul Ryan’s “retirement”:
The fountainhead falls
Wisconsinites breathe a sigh
Peace out Paul Ryan
Now, all-of-us must:
1 Take a moment to appreciate and witness the growing death spiral of the GOP, on which Paul Ryan put a little extra spin with his departure
2 If you are a native/current Wisconsinite (like one-of-us), breathe a sigh of relief that you will (hopefully) never again have to make excuses for Paul Ryan’s existence to the rest of the country
3 Renew your commitment to activism to make sure these words of Paul Ryan’s hero (but not our hero) Ayn Rand, don’t come to pass: “We are fast approaching the stage of the ultimate inversion: the stage where the government is free to do anything it pleases, while the citizens may act only by permission; which is the stage of the darkest periods of human history, the stage of rule by brute force.”
